New Construction is Under Way at The Villas at Pleasant Valley

Kemmons Wilson Companies broke ground on the new Abbey and Canterbury models at The Villas at Pleasant Valley, an active adult community with a maintenance-free lifestyle. “The new building under construction at The Villas at Pleasant Valley is a Cathedral building with two Abbey and two Canterbury models. Its completion for touring is targeted for Thanksgiving. This project is underway because all standing inventory sold out early this summer, which capped a pickup in sales activity over the early part of the year, especially during the Spring,” said Ron Hickman, senior vice- president heading the Real Estate Ventures Group.
The new models show hardwood-flooring upgrades in the living areas and kitchen; the new kitchen has an upgraded cabinet with desk area for convenience and functionality. Both places offer upgraded patios, spacious interior storage, a large laundry room right off the kitchen, gas fireplace in the living room, attached two car garage and attic storage.
Kemmons Wilson Companies has five active senior communities nationwide that are maintenance free for residents which include The Villas at Pleasant Valley, The Villas at Great Plains Park, The Villages at Schilling Farms, The Oaks at Parkview, and the Oaks at Woodchase.

Thomas Construction Comes to the Rescue of a Roofing Disaster

In 2009, Ashley Patterson hired an independent contractor to replace the roof on her Collinsville home, paying $ 5,000 upfront. A year later, the Collinsville Police Department issued Patterson two citations for ordinance violations related to the condition of her nearly brand new roof.
As a single mother of three children, ages 5, 4, and 3 months, Patterson didnt have the money to be picky about the appearance of her house, but never dreamed she would have to replace her roof again this soon. Not to mention, with what money? Doing the job correctly would actually cost twice what she paid before.
Sgt. Bill Berger of the Collinsville Police Department was concerned about Pattersons dilemma, but didnt know how to help. That is, until he came into contact with Doug Miles, Sales Manager at Thomas Construction located in Bridgeton, MO.
Thomas Construction has a history of providing free construction work to residents who are truly in need, and Ashley Patterson was no exception. According to Miles, Thomas Construction does a few of these jobs every so often. Miles continues, these jobs are a way to give back to the community. Townzen agreed that his company would replace Pattersons roof at no cost.

She says, It really touches my heart, because they didnt have to do this. The roof they are building her would normally cost about $ 11,000, and is estimated to last about 30 years. Thomas Constructions suppliers donated the materials, and the company sent four men to handle the job, all of which feel fortunate they were a part of the experience.

Arki Construction Plants a Cactus in Ft. Lauderdale

What was an empty lot only a year ago, is now one of Arki Constructions newest developments, Cactus Car Wash. It took a little over five months to build the 15,000 square feet top of the line car wash.
On September 10, 2011, the Southwestern themed chain opened its doors in their latest location in Ft. Lauderdale. The project was shaped with the help of Arki Construction.
Two of the Owners and CoFounders Antoine and Marwan Iskandar founded Arki Construction in 1995, followed by the expansion in South Carolina in 1999 and recently in the State of Georgia. The decision to open a construction company was inspired after they realized their passion for the industry following their professional background as Architect and Engineer and coupled with a gap of quality and performance in numerous construction developments taking place during that time.
The companys ultimate goal is to provide great service to the clients, all while the customers vision is respected. Mr. and Mrs. Lynch were ecstatic about the ideas presented by the development firm. Each Cactus Car Wash we do we try to do better than the last one and this one is the best one, said Mr. Lynch. Im very happy with the final project. Mr. and Mrs. Lynch desired to maintain the same structure as the car washes they provide throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Therefore, before the construction started, before the authentic Mexican Saltillo tiles were placed or the White Pine wood logs were set and before the first brick was even positioned, Arki Construction traveled to Georgia to do their research.
After Mr. Iskandars first visit to Georgia, he was encouraged to start the project in Florida.This car wash will trump all other car washes in Ft. Lauderdale, he continued by saying, That is what caught my interest, to learn more about Cactus Car Wash and to better assist their end result and goals Mr. Iskandar, took the hour flight to Georgia five times to guarantee that the similarities of the carwashes within Georgia were never lost.
Arki Construction made some improvements, said Superintendent Mark West. Cactus Car Wash in Ft. Lauderdale is not exactly the same layout but very similar to the ones in Georgia. One of the improvements, according to Mr. West, was the 5,000 square feet canopy, where the vacuums are located. Under the canopy, there are six aisles; each aisle could withstand a total of three cars. We added tiles to the front porch entrance, said Mr. West. As one walks into the tiled porch and open the doors to the lobby, they will find the comfort of an airconditioned building, with a coffee shop, a section where one can browse the Internet with their courtesy iPads or simply wait in the living area, as you watch television or enjoy a good read by the fireplace. Cactus Car Wash attracts because it is not usually seen.
Everything built was built for speed and convenience to the customers. Exactly what the client wished for, said Mr. Iskandar. Part of the design and construction was the car wash system that supplies 750 gallons of water that filter and clean the water and cars that visit. The method in Cactus Car Wash is to deliver not only a nice washed car in a short period of time, but to also provide comfort during ones wait, not forgetting a very reasonable rates.
We are the Taj Mahals of car wash, said Mr. Lynch. The team at Arki Construction was pleased with the final outcome of their new project. They fulfilled the clients needs, even when they were 600 miles away. Nonetheless, their main accomplishment of this project was that, yet again, they made another client proud. We feel we have fulfilled their expectations and exceeded it at times. And its a greatfeeling to have done that for our costumer, says Mr. Iskandar. I feel great as long as our client feels great about it and they do. We are building another project in Georgia for Cactus Car Wash and we hope more in Miami.
